Hot Summer - Little Bo Bitch (1979)

Just founded today!!! Still finding unbelievable power pop from this iconic era of music. This has all the makings of a great Power Pop tune. The break @ 1:30 is a perfect example power pop magic. It has it all the vocals, the twangy guitar, the master bass lines...This is a must listen to!

The New Models - Permanent Vacation (1981)

With only a handful of single to their name, this song is fantastic! This is one is highly recommended. It has the whiny vocals, the dead drums, the infectious bass line, A Power Pop masterpiece. It's borderline Punk and could be labeled as Punk Pop.

The Rich Kids - Shape Of Things To Come (1978)

Raw, pure energy at it's finest. Never released as a studio version, I came across this epic song from a band ouf the UK. I did some digging and the original bass player that was replaced by Sid Vicious, Glen Matlock. Also a member is none other than Midge Ure from Ultravox. There was a holy grail of punk rock music that was made for me that became the soundtrack of what was to become part of my younger brother and myself lives. If I was to create another, this song would be on it.

20/20 - Nuclear Boy (1981)

Another incredible find! A power pop gem that rivals the likes of The Vapors. The Vapors were done quite the injustice by releasing Turning Japanese. It's pure shite. The reast of that album Nuclear Days, ...brilliant. So when I compare this to The Vapors, it the highest compliment I can assign to a Power Pop band. THis is so very well done and just discovered today!

X - Los Angeles (1980)

For me, Punk Rock doesn't get any better than this. This entire album is a masterpeice. I had the priledge to see X perform in Milwaukee at The Starship in 1981. X is both iconic, and legenday, and to see them in a small imitimate club on North 5th street. We were no more than 5 feet away. They played two nights and we went to both of them.

The Dead Boys - I Need Lunch (1977)

I did have a very small group of friends, three of them, that were also unaccepted in the high school cliques. I wasn't allowed to play sports, and wasn't about to smoke weed with the 'freaks'. But I did love music, and in the late 70s, our escape was Punk Rock. Mike had an extensive imported vinyl collection that opened my ears to things I would have never found on my own. I had him make me a tape of songs I liked and that tape became infamously known as "THE TAPE". My young younger brother and I LOVED that tape. We still do to this day. This song was on it.

The Vapors - Prisoners (1980)

I can not say enough about these incredible album. New Clear Days is clearly the best Power Pop album I have ever heard in my life. Turning Japanese is the worst song on the album and ruined their chance of being a credible force. If you don't beleive me...,

Shot in the Dark - Shot in the Dark (1981)

DISCOVERED
From the first track I heard, it's a hidden gem that got buried in the onslaught of music in the overly music saturated year of 1981. This reminds me a lot of April Wine meets Blue Oyster Cult. Wow this is really good. Easily going into musical rotation. Doing a little more research on who Mark Santers is. It's made up of brothers Mark and Rick, and no other musical connections. SO an obscure band with an incredible sound. This is a HOLY SHIT!

Demon - Night of the Demon (1981)

MEMORY
From my list data, this was identified as Heavy Metal, and one of Heavy Metal's labels was 'Satan's Music'. Looking at the band name, title and cover...How appropriate. This is really good, but this is actually Hard Rock and sounds very much like Axe. This missed it's target audience by about 2 years.  HOLY SHIT! This was on the tape!

Ruts - The Crack (1979)

MEMORY

I know of The Ruts from the Iconic "Times Square" soundtrack. So I was excited to listen to this to see what other gems were on here. It's a solid representation of that Post Punk sound. HOLY SHIT! what's this? Another one from THE TAPE, "Something That I Said". This is mostly aggressive and rude, it's punk.

The Boys - Boys Only (1980)

DISCOVERED

This is a little softer than their 1977 debut release, but it is still a solid release. I still don't understand why I never heard about these guys before. Could it be that I got this mixed up or confused with The Dead Boys? Not bloody likely! No matter, instantly added to the music rotation. GOOD STUFF!

The Boys - The Boys (1977)

DISCOVERED
LOVE IT!! Old School late 70s Punk Rock. This is one of the best undiscovered Punk Rock bands I have ever found. I have no idea how Cutter's Crew missed this, and maybe they didn't, I did... This is awesome!! It's really hard to pick out a song to represent this album.

Teaze - Body Shots (1980)

DISCOVERED
Wow, this is amazing! If you like Hard Rock from the early 80s. You really have to hear this. This reminds me of 1979-1980 Rainbow when Graham Bonnet was the throat. High Energy, Balls Out Rock and roll. Nearly every one of these songs could have been covered by an 80s Hair Band, and it would have fit right in.

The Damned - The Black Album (1980)

MEMORY
HOLY SHIT!! I had Cutter make me a tape and he was happy to oblige, he love his music collection, 1000s of vinyl, alphabetically arranged, each in a plastic outer LP bag, that held each outer Sleeve and a rice paper inner liner, that separated the inner bagged LP. He knew what he had, and where it was, NOTHING LEFT HIS BASEMENT, aka his Bedroom , aka Cutters. So, I went through album after album after album, etc...going though song by song by song, and picking out what I wanted...and this...This was on THE TAPE, the fucking tape! My Brother and I LOVED that tape, to this day! The tape is long gone and has be repaired and re-repaired, so many times, and when I moved and got married, the tape was never to be found, ever again...Remembering a select few songs, and once in a while, he or I discover one that was on THE TAPE that we forgot... TODAY, I found another... And here it is

Airplay - Airplay (1980)

HOLY SHIT! AMAZING! Where was this hiding? Every once in a while, you hear something and your ears open and your mouth drops. Catchy, melodic, well crafted, this sounds like Toto had sex with Styx, Chicago and Boston. WOW... BLOWN AWAY! Maybe it is just me. So good you get two!
