The Undertones - Teenage Kicks (1979)

Another song from another band from Ireland that set the bar for what other songs are measured. It's raw, gritty, imperfect and emotional. It's innocence in nature is what makes this a true punk classic. A punk version of Manfred Mann's Doo Wah Diddy Diddy if you want a comparison. This song moved John Peel to tears....allegdely.

Uriah Heep - Conquest (1980)

DISCOVERED

Giving this a good listen, this sounds a lot like Axe. Which is a good thing. I cannot understand why I never listen to Uriah Heep. These guys are fantastic. I am fairly certain that it was the organ or keyboards. I found them to make the music dated or less heavy. Uriah Heep does a good job of making sure their keyboards aren't over powering.

U.K. Subs - Brand New Age (1980)

DISCOVERED

Punk is hanging on, as New Wave comes in big. In my opinion, New Wave did to Punk Rock, what Grunge did to Hair Metal. This raw, loud, angry and aggressive. In other words, it's awesome.

U.K. Subs - Another Kind Of Blues (1979)

DISCOVERED

I remember that this was in the Cutter collection, but dismissed it as I thought it was too much of a bold move to put U. K. in their name. I wish I would have used y ears and not my eyes. These guys are UK pure punk in the rawest musical form. This is a perfect example why I am revisiting titles and looking for missed music.
