Amidst the plethora of music that was flooding the music market, this may have been overlooked. The band itself sit in the Hard Rock genre, however this tune is a bit lighter but packs a punch nonetheless. It's a melodic masterpiece, simple but memorable. The Norwegian band made a brief blip on Mtv, but didn't stand out. You should enjoy this,
What a memory...This was one of my first introductions into the hard rock and Heavy Metal music that would become a integral part of my life. 1979, sitting in the back of Keith's 1968 cherry-red metal flake AMC javelin, listening to music...No cares, no responsibility, no regrets, just good times....we got into our share of trouble but nothing producing criminal records...for me anyhow... This, along with the Godz and AC/DC's Highway to Hell were constantly coming out of the two house speakers that we sat beside that was hooked up to the under dash radio, equalizer...we all had them
Just founded today!!! Still finding unbelievable power pop from this iconic era of music. This has all the makings of a great Power Pop tune. The break @ 1:30 is a perfect example power pop magic. It has it all the vocals, the twangy guitar, the master bass lines...This is a must listen to!
What a fantastic song! An audio masterpiece. I remember it got some airplay, but there were two versions, the long one and the short one. You mostly heard the short version as radio wasn't accustomed to playing long songs. The short version was about 4:28 and the full song was about 5:46. When I first heard this song I found it remenescent of Driver Seat by Sniff N The Tears and thought it might have been a follow up from their 1978 song. But as the song progressed, the guitar work got more and more intricate. I was blown away. Undistorted, clean, flawless, and fast...It was incredible. Lindsey Buckingham is the only other musician with the talent to accomplish this type of guitar work. 1979 may be my favorite year from The Era Of Music, but there is no way to put it above the others.
Short and very sweet! This Power Pop tune comes from a band called The Scooters from Los Angeles. Their music got buried and hidden away from the world in the onslaught of from the musical flooding of 80s new wave trend.
Here's a very poppy Power Pop song from an obscure band called "Syl Sylvain and The Teardrops".Turns ouy that Syl is none other than Sylvain Sylvain from the infamous "New York Dolls". I'll be blunt, to me, this is much better than the New York Dolls. Perhaps I overlooked the Dolls because of their schtick, thinking it was less substance and more show. Maybe I will one day find the New York Dolls as enjoyable music, maybe I won't. There is much better music out there to find...until their isn't...it is what it is...And here is Syl Sylvain and The Teardrops and Medicine Man.
Just discovered today! Simnple rock and roll is the best rock and roll!
There isn't an element that stands out from any other. It all just fits together. Well crafted with various hooks and catchy chorus, reminds me a little bit of 10cc at times, but isn't as complex.
